Influences of some biotic and abiotic factors on protein production and as inducers of Fusarium wilt disease resistance in lupine (Lupinus albus L.)

چکیده
Two bacterial species; Pseudomonas fluorescens and Pseudomonas putida and three different chemical compounds; copper sulphate (CuSO4), Indole butyric acid (IBA) and potassium chloride (KCl) were tested for their ability to induce resistance in lupine plants against wilt disease caused by Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. lupini. Treatment of seeds with the selected bacterial species and chemical compounds significantly reduced wilt disease incidence of Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. in Lupine under greenhouse conditions. Potassium chloride and Pseudomonas fluorescens were most effective. Sodium dodecyl sulphate-polyacrylamide gel electrophresis (SDSPAGE) analysis of lupine seedlings revealed that seeds treated with biotic and abiotic inducers resulted in a rapid induction of different novel Pathogenesis-related protein (PR) in shoot and root of lupine seedlings upon infection with the pathogen. These new proteins were not detected in untreated healthy or infected controls. This study aimed to use bacterial species and chemical compounds to decrease Fusarium wilt disease.

Introduction of new crops is one of the strategic approaches for production of feed for livestock and hence protein requirements for the increasing population. White lupine (Lupinus albus L.), yellow lupine (L. luteus L.) and blue (narrow leaf) lupine (L. angustifolius L.) are legumes that can be used for production of feed for livestock and as result protein requirements for the increasing pop...
متن کاملScreening some Iranian Muskmelon Landraces for Resistance Against Fusarium Wilt Disease using Molecular Markers
Fusarium wilt is one of the most destructive diseases of muskmelon (Cucumis melo L.), which is an economically important disease worldwide causes yield losses in muskmelon growing areas. One of the most effective controlling measures to prevent Fusarium wilt is through host resistance by using resistance genes. We used developed molecular markers for Fom-2 gene, which confers ...
متن کاملLipid and protein accumulation in developing seeds of three lupine species: Lupinus luteus L., Lupinus albus L., and Lupinus mutabilis Sweet
A comparative study was carried out on the dynamics of lipid accumulation in developing seeds of three lupine species. Lupine seeds differ in lipid content; yellow lupine (Lupinus luteus L.) seeds contain about 6%, white lupine (Lupinus albus L.) 7-14%, and Andean lupine (Lupinus mutabilis Sweet) about 20% of lipids by dry mass. Cotyledons from developing seeds were isolated and cultured in vit...
متن کاملRAPD assisted selection of black gram (Vigna mungo L. Hepper) towards the development of multiple disease resistant germplasm
Black gram (Vigna mungo L. Hepper), is an extensively studied food crop which is affected by many abiotic and biotic factors, especially diseases. The yield potential of Black gram is shallow due to lack of genetic variability and biotic stress susceptibility. Core biotic stress factors include mung bean yellow mosaic virus (MYMV), urdbean leaf crinkle virus (UCLV), wilt (Fusarium oxysporum) an...

Elicitors could be used as the enhancer of plant secondary-metabolite synthesis and could play an important role in biosynthetic pathways of important medicinal compounds. The present study investigated the effect of abiotic elicitor (fungal extract of Fusarium graminearum) and two abiotic elicitors (methyl jasmonate and salicylic acid) at different concentrations in 18- and 30-day-old cultures...
